July 3, 2008 - The Patriot Ledger reports Plymouth Rock Studios has struck a deal to buy Waverly Oaks Golf Club as the site for what it says will be a world-class movie and television production campus.
“This is a beautiful site and completely different from anything in Los Angeles County,” Plymouth Rock Studios founder David Kirkpatrick said. “That’s what we were looking for, a habitat different from Los Angeles County.”
Studio officials began looking for alternative sites after land title issues forced them to abandon plans to build on 1,000 acres of town-owned property off Route 25.
A zoning change for the golf course property would be sought at town meeting in October. The property is located just off Route 3 across from the Pine Hills development.
